NPD numbers only deal with US sales. If his numbers he knows were only half the expected shipping numbers, then doesn't that mean we probably met the numbers? Since US only makes up about half the sales worldwide. Is this guy just stupid or something?
It seems that his spin on this is that he conveniently doesn't mention that he is talking solely about September sales. And "atrocious" compared to what? Some more spin.
All you have to do is ask yourself why THQ did not drop the price to $39.99 several weeks ago like Sleeping Dogs? Enix chose to quickly increase their numbers while THQ chose to continue to get full price (albeit much slower sales). It seems that a company that is going BK surely would have chosen the first option.
Also, what I saw was THQ run a promotion on DSII only on ShopTHQ and only a few days before the quarter end. What would this indicate? That they had already met guidance and figured why not fluff it some, but let's just do it through ShopTHQ so we get the full revenue. This choice to only do the promotion on ShopTHQ also indicates that it has become a shopping option for many consumers.
Let's use some common sense here. VGChartz has DSII nearing 900k without ShopTHQ and digital sales (which from all indicators are very good). Now, is Kevin Dent saying VGChartz massively over reported? How could they over report you ask? They can't. Dent is a tool with an agenda putting his spin out there. End of story.
He clearly has an agenda against THQ. Funny how he throws in "Sadly" in his comment as if it will make me believe he wants THQ to succeed. Just makes him more transparent. I have never given any of his comments any legitimacy.
