Phillip Humann heard no heckles from the 150 stockholders present. He reviewed the record earnings for the latest quarter and the strong results from last year. The outgoing chief executive, James B. Williams, got a standing ovation for the ninefold increase in the price of the company's stock during his tenure. And when Humann asked if there were any questions, the stockholders responded with contented silence.
