Bloomingdale's opens 2 units in metro Dallas

Two new stores, but they are not full line stores nor are they devoted to fashion clothing. The 2 units are outlet stores. Bloomingdales had a store in Dallas in the late 1980's but closed it after more than a decade of weak sales due to a secondary mall location and ineffective store line management.

To be sure outlet units are very profitable as the merchandise assortment is over 60% specially designed and manufactured items priced at higher margins and sold without any drastic price reductions during the style run on the racks and shelves. Also, sales costs are lower with non-commission staff, area checkouts, few fitting rooms and low managememt costs.

So,all and all a plus to add to the M bottom line.

Thats excellent to learn. Macy's Kansas City Region Stores are in trouble. Topeka, Kansas, has closed down. My sources tell me that sales are at a all time low in Southwestern Missouri's Joplin Northpark Mall Store 613. And they are defrauding Sales Associates out of their pay. Some are getting paychecks less than $15.00 a week. Bad Store and Sales Management. (It's Below $14.9 million once $30 million a year in Sales. In my business years of experience employees are your most valuable asset. Your face to the public for your firm. Hope Bloomingdales does better in Dallas, than at the Mall of America. It was a nice store when I was there with my wife.
