On the last conference call, Jay Thatcher the COO mentioned Highland Tank Co. specifically as a company that they may be integrating Smart Sponge on the back end of their oil separator tanks. (towards the end of the call) He said..."And then also on the industrial side being a real solutions provider so that we may be combining Smart Sponge with Highland Tank oil water separators for example which we’ve actually done for those now, where we’ve integrated Smart Sponge on the back end of Highland Tank oil water separators."
Now if you go to Highlands webpage and click the Wastewater Treatment Tab, then the advanced filtration tab it reads..."Highland's Advanced Hydrocarbon Filtration Systems (AHFS) are used in applications where strict water quality discharge regulations are mandated. Highland's AHFS, utilizing filters with patented hydrocarbon removal technology, are engineered to remove hydrocarbons ranging from BTEX to crude oil from water. A patented polymeric surfactant technology is used to infuse all filtration products. This treatment instantly bonds hydrocarbons to make them hydrophobic and viscoelastic - removing them completely from the water. The single-pass efficiency through the filter cartridges is often as high as 99.9% with very little pressure drop created by oil saturation." Note: "A patented polymeric surfactant technology is used to infuse all filtration products....bonds hydrocarbons, hydrophobic, blah blah....Sound Familiar? Highland does not claim it as their own patented technology.
Highland Tank does not specifically mention Smartsponge in its advanced filtration product, but does mention something just like Smartsponge in its filtration process. Could it be? Just not announced yet?
checking in to see how you're doing. It still hasn't broken below .50 if it does look out below. This is a hope stock - we hope there is positive news (additional contracts) every month. Someone obviously has a floor under the stock so the hope remains.
