I've always found Ernie's opinions to be helpful. I tracked him on the MEDX board and he's been very forthcoming with his calls. He stated his concerns regarding data on ipi in Dec 07 and that he pulled out - and ended up being correct. He also stated his thoughts around the DNDN approval and capitalized on that binary event (although as I recall, he traded the after-blip).
Anyway - it seems totally reasonable that these science guys follow stocks they way they do. They have expert information, so they are able to interpret and analyze data in a heightened manner. When they share their thoughts, I think it is helpful and still view their comments through an objective lense, or try to.
Investing is an interesting activity - so why not contribute thoughts and theories on a message board? There are legitimate abuses of inside information going on - better to point your paranoia towards those.
RE: EXEL - I need a deal and a bump to make me black on my options play. Good luck to all during these volatie times.
