Fifteen months and still holding. COMPANY UPDATE: Will someone please check the cockpit of the Joy Global Starship? I believe our command crew may have been beamed to another planet! You do not see any upper management making rounds to Joy locations anymore. Maybe they are still busy counting their bankruptcy bonuses and stock options. It is funny how management of companies call cuts in labor force a reduction that they will raise company stock price but what they actually reduce is their production that makes them money and causes them to lose business and probably have poor service. Yet, we hold on to upper management level that keep taking us down the same road to more lost business and more losing quarters. Of course from the companies standpoint, if they are laying off here and they pay $8 a day in mexican wages who cares what servicing a customer is all about. Joy management has managed to re-define the term PRODUCTION CONTROL and changed it to the all new system called UNCONTROLLED PRODUCTION. Plans for assembly comes only when the urge strikes them. Joy has managed to take their 40 million dollar computer that was to show them what they did wrong and now they manipulate it to show how well management does their job. We show 98% line item fill but fail to recognize the 40% shortage of critical parts such as hydraulic components, mechanical components, electrical components and sub-frame assemblies. TECHNOLOGY IS TERRIFIC!
