Gencor Industries' sales up, but loss widens By Richard Burnett, Orlando Sentinel, August 13, 2010
Orlando-based Gencor Industries Inc. reported a $1.6 million quarterly loss Friday, double its loss from the same quarter last year. The loss for the fiscal third quarter that ended June 30 amounted to 16 cents a share, compared with a loss of eight cents a share in the year-ago period. The company said its sales were up 8.7 percent to $12.7 million. Gencor, which makes heavy machinery for highway construction, said demand for its products has been undermined by the sour economy and sluggish government funding for road projects.
Explain that, sales up but have a loss... Something aint right.
