my theory on why Monty didn't drop more today...

many investors have lost power, phones, and access to brokers to dump shares.
Only ENH lost more than Monty today, which is nothing to brag on for Monty.
Decent quarterly report, although the premium is drying up.

    • You are dumber than a brick! Anyone that follows this industry and the stocks knows that the vast majority of holders of insurance stocks are institutional investors -- pension funds and mutual funds -- that tend to play for the long term and rarely dump shares on a single event such as this. The retail trade does indeed mindlessly sell into such events (history has shown how dumb they can be) but, in this specific case, institutions hold 91% of the O/S shares, so what impact will the retail trade have?

You would be much less tiresome if you looked around you a bit more, rather than focusing only on the negatives that the industry confronts and giving implication that your boy is immune. For instance, you point to premium growth at MrH drying up. Take a look at what has been happening at Gen Re and BH Re.
