know if ASCL is being investigated as part of the IFMX scandal? It might be interesting to see if past business practices have carried over to P(I)G. I think Phil and Peter would make great roommates -- IN JAIL!
ASCL only has the opportunity to execute better at this point - better technology is available elsewhere.
Which is fine, as long as we can make a little coin along the way.
You are right, OK technology with solid execution usually fares better.
And of course Microsoft has the absolute best technology right? OK technology with solid sales execution usually fares a lot better than great technology with average or poor sales execution. ASCL has the potential to be the latter...only time will tell if it can be the bigger winner in the market.
Unfortunately, your argument is off the mark a bit.
Solid technology and solid investment do not necessarily go hand-in-hand. They definitley do not with ASCL.
It is good technology, not great by any stretch. Each of their components is at best a number 2 player in its space. Even their total package is generally better addressed by utilizing the 3-4 various vendors in a collaborative mode.
As for investment, I think there is money to made here. I think the story is solid and they will have some success; but realistically the story is better than the technology itself.
Personally, I am not a huge fan; I think the story will sell the technology better than it deserves, but then again, who really cares as long as the shareholders reap the benefit.

Here's a prediction that is also a guarantee...you will die, eventually!

GURU, YOU STILL CAN'T MAKE THE MOST SIMPLE PREDICATION CORRECTLY!!! THE PROPER PRONOUN TO USE IS "WE", AND NOW YOUR PREDICTION STANDS CORRECTED AND IS GUARANTEED TO BE CORRECT!!! HAVE A MEERY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
So far the only one failing is you. I haven't seen a thing you've predicted correctly. Even your accusations are nothing but unsubstantiated water cooler gossip by shorters
who have lost almost everything including their shorts. Your a desperate person grabbing at thin air and coming up short as usual. How about another "Strong Sell" recommendation to keep up your losing prognostication record firmly secured.
Guru,You just do not get it.With the purchase of Mercator this company is about as solid as it can be.PG did take some off the table just like most do but as far as revenue and earnings I suggest you watch the first 2 quarters of 2004,they will be blowout quarters.my son was on the panel at the las conference for investors and while he has not added any new products at this time,he is completely satisfied with what Mercator has,he is off the belief this company is in its infancy and the potential is tremendous.I will take my sons word over yours.Adamo
I don't see anything in that article to suggest that Geynes and White knew each other let alone ever met. Granted they may have know of each other since they were in the same industry but you'll need to do better that article to link them. Actually I think the dates given in that article supports the other side of the argument.
