I’m interested in knowing more about TXT, preferably from contributors who are long and familiar with the stock’s history. Additionally, I’m interested in hearing opinions/projections on the outlook over the next few years.
Wait for TXT to cross 29.36 at close of a week, then jump in. If it backs off from current levels, wait for the time it is closer to 25.84, then get in and ride to $60 in a couple of years. Good solid manufacturing company, benefiting from war and pent-up demand in aviation, slow and sluggish in corporate and stock moves, but owning this stock is a conservative play and better than leaving money in bank because stock will double and dividend will go up from here.
been in txt a long time, go back to avco days, holding 20,000 shares cost basis 29.50. tempted to run but want to think we hace a chance to run past that 29 resistence so probably will hold but very tempting to get out. need some encouragement
Hey, Eddie, what's the story? ... I have invested in Avco/TXT since the '70's (when the Crazy Eddie ads ran) ... also worked at Avco HQ for 15 years before parachuting from TXT ... although a frustrating rollercoaster to ride (check out the max graph), I am absolutely convinced this will recover to north of $60 in a couple years ... they cleaned up TFC and have a fine portfolio of businesses ... defense products are solid and appropriate for the future and should survive any cuts ... Cessna should slowly recover ... div should increase, recall it was $1 in 2008 ... and many of us here agree a split-up will unlock value and hasten a recovery ... spin-off Cessna, Bell and Systems similar to what Tyco did over recent years ... good luck!
Thanks for responding. Back to the ‘70’s, wow, you’ve been familiar with this company for a while. I was very interested to read all of your comments and observations, but particularly regarding the spinoff scenario. Do you believe it’s something that’s receiving consideration?
Thanks again. I’ll be following the dialog to learn more.
