I own a lot of dividend paying stocks, but EGLE is the only one that sometimes pays late. A few years ago I had a conversation with the CFO regarding the late payment of my dividend. He claimed that the money was transmitted by EGLE to the DTCC on the dividend payment date, but my broker claimed the money was not transmitted to them by the DTCC. I called the DTCC and they confirmed my broker's version. Who knows why EGLE plays these games.
And, NO, my broker didn't credit my dividend yet. However, I'm not going to waste any time on this matter. As I recall the dividend announcement said the payment date would be "on or about November 26", so this gives them some wiggle room.
Sluggo: Thanks for your post. Appreciated. Many investors become confused relative to the various dates regarding dividend eligibility. The most important date is the "Ex-Dividend" date. If you buy or own on that date you are entitled to the divy. The other dates are rudimentary.
Enough with these "where's my dividend" questions already! EGLE said the dividend would be paid on Nov 26th, and today's Nov 26th. The dividend usually shows up in the after-hours transactions of the day it's paid. Is this really the first time people have gotten a dividend?!
