You are right on logical way it is hard to predict but I am a trader of long time and have seen all bad and good time in market. I agree two things one that due to holday trading vol was not impressive and stock will not unfold its direction and second low vol trade will distort the underlying facts. However you will notice that the volume was much better on last Thursday compared to previous 3-4 days of trading and last trade was at on much higher vol than all day long. Somebody must be knowing the fact that something good is comming in RMBS in very near future. Somebody will not tie up money for 3 non session days if it is not to their advantage to buy on Thusday 4.27 P.M EST instead of Monday morning. The big surprise to me will be if RMBS will not cross 100 and closes above 100+ by the end of next week.

Mutual Fund magagers sell off their dogs and buy up high-fliers to make their funds look better to investers in the comming year. When they release their year-end prospectus, they can show a portfolio of winners.
