    Corn contango

All, been out of touch this am, physically that is. Look at the GDP number, reasonably good. Existing home sales up a couple of percent, inventories down and could have peaked, average price actually up. Oil prices up but equities down, don't have a clue. And Goldman says GM, at a decades low, is a sell. And by the way, C will have writeoffs in the 2nd quarter, what a surprise. Not much rational today, maybe this is close to the end. Hare

I admit my brother and I are cutting back on our offshore excursions somewhat and spending more time anchored over wrecks and having fun crabbing inshore. We spent a whole day catching and cleaning these tasy morsels called blue crabs.

Here is Justabettins newfound crabcake recipe. From a lack of ingredients I believe Ive created my favorite so far.

      In a saucepan

      2 tablespoons butter
      2 tablespoons minced onion
Cook until onion is yellow and remove from heat
      1 cup soft bread crumbs
      1lb backfin crab meat
      1egg beaten
      1teaspoon dry mustard
      salt and paprika to taste
If the mixture seems too dry add some milk
Shape into cakes and sprinkle with flour Brown quickly in butter
Reduce heat and cook slowly for 5 minutes

      • Justabettin,

Thanks for that. It isn't easy to get reliably high quality crabmeat in these parts.

Quite a sell-off today. Very little went unscathed and the selling continued right into the close. Instinct says that we test 1275 at the SPX in the next couple of days. If no support there, we could test 1240 next. Even much of energy didn't like the day but microcap energy loved it. These very high natural gas prices are attracting lots of money to the tiny.
