Nice earning and gaining market share.

Nice earning and gaining market share.
    Congrats all longs.
I wonder what are your 12-18 months targets?
    Is current price too high?

I finally understand why AMEX is so successful (and alsways command premium). I recently open an AMEX card and I'm impressed with their service and benefits (and they beat Visa signature hands down). I haven't got a chance to try the elite world mastercard yet.

I used to hate AMEX (as well as discover as it is not as widely accepted as Visa and Mastercard) and I promised myself not to own an AMEX card. Additionally I thought it will finally go away (go down or being bought out) and I guess was wrong, big time.

No wonder BRKA own 12% of this company (BRKA is smart and know that AXP is a good company with good products). I should have known better (as a BRKA shareholder myself) on why they continue to hold AXP..

Again congrats AXP long.. I'm thinking to buy some AXP shares but at this price I'm not sure yet (also thinking to buy BAC shares for the dividend)

Let me know what you think..

    • You might like to try their card which is associated with Hilton Hotels. You get some good points for signing up, and then further hotel stay points as you use the card. For a business traveler, the Hilton chain, isn't too bad. Save some overhead, and get a reasonable hotel room.

      • ibnbatuta, thanks for the recommendation..

I'll check their hilton hotels card. Is that the starwood card?
I like hilton. Is doubletree part of hilton too? I like doubletree a lot (though they have been increasing their price several times the last 2-3 years)

I got the Amex "Black Card" copy-cat issued by BofA (Accolades card). The benefit is comparable (if not better) with Amex platinum but the airport lounge benefit is not limited to just a few airlines and it is not tied to the flight that you take that day, a feature similar to the real black card (Amex centurion).

So far I'm quite impressed with this Amex card (awesome service and benefit).

I haven't bought AXP stock yet and I wonder why the stock is down today... (is it a good entry point?)
