In 1989 terrorists said we had 10 years to cut emissions or burn in fire

In 1989 we were told we had 10 years to cut emissions or burn.

According to July 5, 1989, article in the Miami Herald, the then-director of the New York office of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Noel Brown, warned of a “10-year window of opportunity to solve” global warming. According to the 1989 article, “A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of ‘eco-refugees,’ threatening political chaos.”

    What happened?

Since the all-wise scientists (you know, those who are never wrong) say that man is causing global warming, then why aren't they campaigning for ZERO birth rates? Duh...

    • At risk of wasting more time and risking further insult from what appears to be an angry and confused authority, "google" Scientist's Opinions on Global Warming. For example, from Reuters quoting an international study conducted at a university in England, the following:

(Reuters) - Ninety-seven percent of scientists say global warming is mainly man-made but a wide public belief that experts are divided is making it harder to gain support for policies to curb climate change, an international study showed on Thursday.

The report found an overwhelming view among scientists that human activity, led by the use of fossil fuels, was the main cause of rising temperatures in recent decades.
(Yet, over 40% of the "uneducated" public believes (mistakenly) that scientists are divided on the issue.)
You may have the last word my scholarly colleague.

    • Try the decaf. "stooges". This rant is extremism on steroids, at least in my opinion. Good evening and take a deep breathe.
