So can someone explain to me why this stock is dropping after they stated they were going to increase the dividend? I know the price drops in relation to the dividend payout, but this doesn't occur until September. Granted the sector is down, but Duke is down twice as much as the sector with no news that I can find.
Can't do without food, water, and electricity. When two hurricanes hit FL several years ago we were without electricity for 2 weeks and everyone on our street stepped out and cheered the guys who got it turned back on. Relax, this speed bump is just temporary.
"Arthur" making its way into Duke Energy country MAY be a reason of the recent price drop the last 2 days. People moving inland and shutting off the power,or storm induced power outages along with the cost of restoring power will reduce revenues for the month of July.
Lots of 4th of July festivities cancelled because of the storm MAY reduce revenues further.
