Actually, I was not referring to NPK. While NPK's management has at times been excessively conservative (though that's better than wasting money), at least they are honest.
I was referring to a consumer packaged goods company (not ODC!!!) where the founding CEO owns supervoting stock, the company has sales much less than ODC, yet the CEO earns more than does ODC's CEO. Plus, the CEO's wife and possibly some friends loaned the company money at around a 16% interest rate!!! This company wastes money on litigation they have no hope of winning - I observed four days of such a trial last month, during which I saw the CEO lie on the stand in federal court.
I'm sure you'll agree the above is much worse than NPK could ever be.
