    STRONG BUY (don't read this)

According to Medscape, approximately 25% of the United States population is seropositive for HSV-2 by the fourth decade of life, with women being infected more frequently than men. The indirect and direct costs of incident HSV genital infection in the United States are presently approximately $1.8 billion and expected to be greater than $2.7 billion by the year 2015.

Currently, there is no cure for genital herpes. It is a recurrent, lifelong viral infection. But under a grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the effort mounted by Vical is directed at developing a plasmid DNA-based vaccine to inhibit recurring lesions in patients latently infected with HSV-2. And while still in the preclinical stage, results have shown a reproducible statistically significant reduction in viral lesion occurrence in guinea pigs latently infected with HSV-2.

This one will work as it's not a skin disease and has shown great results thus far :-)

      • That would be low ball if true. The failure of the skin cancer treatment is of no surprise to many in the medical field. Biological treatments stimulate your immune system in order to kill cancer cells however promising that is they just won't work at the topical skin levels.

What this is telling you is today has no bearing on the rest of the promising pipeline VICL has.

I don't know where you got that figure however I hope VICL tells them to stuff it and get real. VICL has 70 million in cash still and plenty of partnering coming up.

    • "These data were among the best that were seen in a pre-clinical HSV-2 vaccine model. "

VICL is sitting on a gold mine and it's out and shorts forgot to check on this. Also news is due soon on this so better start buying to cover shorty. The next HOD starts the real pressure and don't look for power hour to help the shorts. VICL is a serious BUY here... happy days for the new smarter longs are coming :-)
