Astec most likely gave up forecasting 2009 because backlog has dried up. They will do well once stimulus money is in the hands of road builders. Wall Street has discounted any near-term benefit. The stimulus money will be a much larger benefit in 2010 and 2011 for Astec.
Grant's rants are a failed experiment in irrational pessimism as a self-fulfilling prophecy. Hmmm, let's see if we can pick the most unlikely company out there to suffer and see if we can scare the Cramer crowd into selling it.
ASTE will be one of the bright spots. Where do you think all the stimulus money and highway funds are going to go? Read the bill, read the budget.
Indeed, it is amusing how far this drifted up in the last 14 days on very light trading. Small trades of 50 or 100 shares keep moving the price up, s I don't trust the price a this levels, the support seems very light...this thing could crash in no time, but then, one never knows.
