Now when GME took that plunge in May I thought it had something to do with an announcement from MSFT that X-box was going totally online, no more CD's in a box; which would cut GME totally out of the picture. So what do you mean by they "lifted restrictions". What's going on?
Microsoft also lifted the requirement that the Xbox always be connected to the Internet (kinda like Bush's Patriot act #$%$). Thy wanted to regulate how you purchased games, what you played, monitor your usage.
You can use any game, used, traded etc. They don't have to be registered to the x-box being used. They currently need to be registered. Sony was kicking Microsofts butt by having the open forum. Microsoft caved in. The theory is that there will be more used game being traded now that they can be used on any system. The likes of GameStop will see more traffic and sales.
