    Survival of JRS?

    Does anyone have any accurate knowledge about what it takes for a CE fund to go bankrupt? I mean how low can a fund go before the towel is thrown in? Please, only those with specific truthful knowledge respond to the question. Thank you.

    • they announced yesterday that they would buy back 20 mils preferred out of the total 37 mils. It still has 17 mils leveraged. If the real estate market can stablized from now, the return shall be good. be patient.

    • that can't happen - it's a 'closed' fund of a fixed amt. of assets. As long as the leveraged position is properly managed it will be ok- however the fund's NAV is suseptable to the market value of the underlying assest the fund holds-

      compunding the div. at these levels should be a great long term chance for future appreciated - current yeild is over 30 percent-

      there can be a large 'discount' because it trades on the open market - check for more info - a good site for CEF info and stats..

      • Thanks for your answer. I feel a little better but could you expand on "properly managed". What could that entail and or what are the ramifications if the leverage is not properly managed? We are in it for the duration and it looks like the lower the market price which results in a higher yield. That means the fund will have to keep lowering the dividend as the market price/nav continues to fall. Thanks again.
