    OXO's Execution problems

The OXO unit seems to be having major executions problems. If you notice in all the major stores, stocks of OXO products have been dwindling. This appears to be because they moved Warehouses and switched distribution software to Oracle. The new software is not working and they can not ship any accounts. This should be a issue that they will have resolved fairly soon, but it has been going on for months and no telling what the damages will be.

They have lost months of sales. Large retailers may realize that they need to give more space to competing brands to avoid this kind of situation in the future.

Don't know how much this will play on the bottom line but it can't help.

    • Is that hear say? You have channel checks in place and what I would assume is privledged information about how the Oracle software is working?

      This sounds fishy to me.

Regardless it would be shorterm in nature and an opportunity. The new distribution system is expected to save them $.24 / share in 2006.

      • uh yeah, those distribution system hand offs are always sweet especially for a crap import company like this. See Enesco for a great story about a new distribution system that ruined them.

Can distribution help their poor sales? We get you the product, but people actually have hair dryers, thank you, and OXO hardly makes anough to pay off the debt they incurred to buy it...IF that is true about ditribution issues, put a FORK in HELE. But they probably would have announced that...maybe.
