Bob/ALDW: Bah, admit it, you're never going to sell! You'll just keep moving the limit up :). But at least for now the refiner space is looking good. I'll have to say I'm surprised to see WTI at these higher levels.
LNCO/LINE: Glad to see the rebound, it was a little bit uncomfortable earlier in the day when LNCO was down over 6%. I'm sure the volatility will continue until it looks like the BRY merger is ironclad. I'm continuing to deepen my positions and will go further yet on the next couple short attacks... I think this is likely a blessing in disguise for long's.
NATDF: Will also buy more of this on any weakness, but so far it hasn't given us any. Am fine with my current (large) allocation if a price break never comes.
AGNC/MTGE: I'm definitely curious to see what these do between now & ex-div. I will continue to stay away from the mREIT's for likely at least 1 quarter. They should do well in the coming 1-2 years since their borrowing rate should stay low while long term rates rise (ie, spread will widen) but they're in a transitional phase right now so I can afford to wait a few months until the Fed QE situation is less hot of an issue for them.
turbo: Made a big big gamble on LINE and came out like a bandit - bought @ 30.01 and sold half @34.00 just before Ben started speaking... Used the proceeds to purchase the stocks named at/under Bob's OT NYMT post... Would like your opinions on these: TCRD @ 14.62short term; AWF @ 14.57 long term; NYMT @ 6.96 real short term/divvy only; RNF ??? Otherwise how goes it on your end??? Been really holding close to the vest on stocks until this last LINE/LNCO fiasco and playing mostly on short-term trades - Any good ones that you find please do not hestitate to drop me a line!!! Regards to you and your family...
turbo: Bob is going to sell a stock??? LOL... I'm a doubting Thomas on that one!!! :) ... Was nervous on LINE but up 10.25% after betting big - (going to hold a tad more and make the shorts pay up for the aggravation they caused and then sell it... Assuming BRY goes through in mid-August , still long LNCO, and monthly dividend in July is great... Playing NYMT short-term and waiting for REIT pull-back for NCT... Still in RNF and CTL but questioning my positions there... Technicals out the window this month and july...
LOL. Today the order will be for $26.90. Put it in now and forget about it. New strategy. I think the mREITS will be bouncing back nicely now, especially MTGE, which has a better allocation of agency/non agency paper than AGNC. I do expect them both to recover nicely though. Most of my other REITs have either held or raised, save TWO which cut .01. I can live with all of that. Unloaded WMC and AMTG last week to think out my REITs. Added a bit of SDRL and picked up a position on SFL on the SO. Owned it in the past and regret ever having sold. Now paying 9.75% divvy (today's x/d day).
OT in re LINE: Going to be a hedgefund "bear attack" on LINE tomorrow @ 11:00am. Stock sits @ 30.52 at close- had dropped sub 30 for a few minutes and recovered... I know you hold LINE and you might want to add once the dust clears - I went back in with a small trounch @ 30.01 and if as bad as it sounds could be a great buying opportinuty - These numbers are circa 2008 right now!... Thought you and turbo might like to know about it... aside: Thought an attack by a hedgefund on a specific stock was prohibited by SEC under Rule 12, et seq., but it is happening anyway - (was spoken about on Cramer this evening; plus tweets, plus PR wires)... Should be a wild day... Later and regards to your family...
