Amazing that shareholders are bailing out of the entire sector due to this anal-ist's view !! These companies are a bargain with above average growth ......ABC is the most undervalued !! Listening to these spammer anal-ist's is laughable .....they're wrong 75% of the time .....
I will agree with you - the analyst sounds like an idiot. With the baby boomers hitting 50 years old and with people living longer, unit growth should accelerate. Unless, of course, everyone goes to Mexico or Canada for their drugs.
After talking to a local pharmacist, I will go on record as saying sales growth will also accelerate.
goose -- Thanks for the research. Talking to your local pharmacist -- that's the kind of comprehensive due diligence that investors need. And how did you come up with that baby boomer/life expectancy observation? Great insight! I'm sure those idiot analysts at Goldman don't do that kind of in depth research in forming their opinions on industry growth.
Kidding aside, this reuters blurb from last Friday also indicates slowing drug sales growth worldwide. The US (relevant market for ABC) still shows 13% growth, and it is unclear how this latest US number relates to recent historic numbers.
It is a shame that one uninformed analyst can cause a drop in the stock. The results are in and the quarter showed progress. You are right on in your assessment that the baby boomers will get more drugs as they age. The company is positioned to take advantage of this. Have no idea how long this downturn may last. Sooner or later some analyst will see the light.
Goldman wants the market to tank. This is just another false report put out by Goldman, in a long string of downgrades and saying the economy is going downhill. The liberal news media picks up on this. ABC is so undervalued.
