I know I am stepping out on a limb here, but here goes. I am looking for opinions on a reasonable entry point on HL. Many of you are experienced with HL, as I am relatively new, even though I have studied the charts. Would someone be kind enough to give me an idea on this ?
Please, serious answers here. Many thanks in advance.
And why do you want to buy HL in the first place? Buy CDE, EXK and AG those are well run companies with great future.
HL has good assets but unfortunately the company is captured by the worst management ever.
Shulman, thank you for your response. Actually EXK is one of my considerations also...due to their management, and their people as actual geologists, many with amazing backgrounds in their field. However, it is the value of assets with Hecla that has attracted me. more long term. I see the Silver play going on for some time, and that value of assets stands out with me. Again I thank you, and I suppose we will see how this turns out. Best regards as well.
Divide the money that you want to invest in HL into 3 lots. If it doesn't gap up on Monday buy some at the lowest price you can. Then from there buy more on dips, until you are fully invested. From there you can buy a little on every dip and sell a little on every spike. That's what I do.
You could just buy it all at once, but that is a little more risky.
That's exactly what I normally recommend (just as t.clark laid out). However, Aug-Sept are usually the strongest months for precious metals. It looks like that move has started and there is much more to go. Given HL's low valuation, rising production, the recent gold acquisition, and the seasonal effects, I'd recommend you buy all at once on Monday if events over the weekend don't negate the aforementioned. I'm already in and pleased I am. Good luck on your investing. Regards,
