RAD has a good presence here in Memphis, where Walgreen dominates the market. CVS came in a couple years ago, and seems they are on opposite corners from Walgreen, in big new buildings both. RAD near me is on the end of a strip center, which I imagine is cheaper. With smart marketing, they can find a good niche. They have a big beer presence, actually until last year, walgreens had not sold beer, now they do have a liminited amount. Not sure of CVS, never been in one. the RAD store near me is very well stocked, very clean and impressive. With good mangement, RAD can again grow into a dominant player in the drug store market.
Wow! They sell beer. That's all it takes where you are for a business to be successful. "Here in Memphis if youinz aints gonna sell beer we's don't wants you here." "Get rid of that there other stuff youinz sells and put in some more of that there beer".
