Tax loss nothing. People are getting out while there's at least a little value left. All you need to do is look at their 3rd quarter financial results. This bank posted a net loss of about $1.4 million in the third quarter. This was AFTER a $2.2 million gain on the sale of the Millersburg office. There are serious credit issues there. The loss stems from about $3.6 million in allocations to their loan loss reserve to cover charge offs. Plus they still have about a million in non-performing loans left on their portfolio. And that does not count the $1.7 million real estate development project that went bad they took back in to Other Real Estate Owned. They have to feed another $1.5 million into that development to finish it. They claim to have a contract with a builder to buy the lots when the development is finished but how reliable is that in this housing market? Their net interest margin is down around 3%. They were not making any money before this huge loss and with this slim margin, profits won't come easy even if the above loss was a one-time thing. The bank just grew too fast and put on bad loans and paid high rate of interest on deposits to do it.
