And let's not forget naked call writers -- those extra gutsy guys and gals! I know that B.F. was dismissive of options as a factor on the Friday in Feb. when that class expired.
But there's a non-trivial number of Mar. 10's & 12.5's out there. And, not to put too fine a point on it, your post implies some uncertainty as to any ANAD/Apple fraternizing. There is next to none, IMHO! ... Of course, it's possible you're echoing my thought that this possibility/reality is not yet universally (or possibly not even widely) recognized!
Many posts back, I pointed out that ANAD is one of the surest new Russell 2000 stocks, and while that "event" (they call it reconstitution, and it entails trillions of dollars of indexed money [with, of course, a much smaller number earmarked for any particular stock] flowing into & out of companies who've simply passed a single $ "buoy" in one direction or the other) happens at the end of June, there's a great deal of academic evidence that folks like hedgies buy in much earlier. Obviously, it's very appealing to quants, especially those who have both good analytics AND capable trading desks.
