This is the wal mart of dollar stores. Totally beginning to dominate. This depression/massive unemloyment/stagnant wages is not going anywhere but possibly up. Machines are replacing people too fast. Households are going to be primarily single income households with women earning the money. Dollar Tree will continue seeing increased sales as a result of people trying to save money on food or basic necessities in order to still be able to go and do other things.

    • I am at a loss as to why this stock has been out of favor. DLTR is still making money and will continue to grow and make a good profit. I agree with much of what you wrote but it is a little extreme. The US economy is doing well despite Obama. I do however believe people look for bargains and will continue to look. Women will continue to make strides in business but to say they will be the major earners is incorrect at least for the next 10 years. (maybe in 20).

      Sentiment: Hold

      • milkessan, women are already the majority on college campuses bro. It is inevitable at that point, that those with college degrees will earn more due to a specialized degree than those without anything. So in less than 5 years, you will have more women graduating than men with college degrees. What is there to argue about on that topic.

As for the stock price, this is the stock market. It is "purposefully" irrational. In 2007 this stock went down 50%, it then proceeded to grow 700% to the new all-time high over the next 5 years, until the recent pullback. But this is pure growth mode. They dominate a niche and are ull out on the offensive in this environment.

    • I visited there a few months ago. They have frozen food with floured batter on it. It was cheap. I can't eat that stuff because it doesn't agree with me, but if I could eat it , I would have bought some.
