"Does any news ever come of that State?"
    - Rarely, and that's probably a good thing, given the things that make the news.

"I was told that the people there are very clanish."
    - I had that concern when I moved to Maine, but I haven't seen any evidence of it. The population is only 1.3 million in a state three times bigger than Massachusetts, so I'm sure there are places with small-town behaviors, but mostly people are very civil.

"Don't those people ever go on vacation, and, if so where do they go?"
    - Those who aren't employed in the tourism industry do go on vacation, but as I said, there aren't many of us, and it's a big planet. There are lots of recreational opportunities close to home, too, such as Camden. An economist told me that "If the United States had been settled from West to East, Maine would be a National Park."

I recommend that we increase the interstate travel between Florida and Maine - you can come up here during the summer hurricanes, and I'll come down there during the winter snowstorms!

    - Zippy
