    Q1/2011 Earnings....

    Figures are indeed not too bad. I am surprised they took much lower RMBS losses than AGO this quarter.

    Now we can sit back and wait for the Great Countrywide Settlement, and all the others

    • mbi has the most aggressive accounting standards in the industry, ago is overly conservative. adjust for that and it was another blood bath for this shrinking firm. then again, reality only catches up with accounting over the long run. ask enron employees about this.

      SO with 25 Million Shares Short, as earnings are as expected, favorable ruling today on GMAC Case, we will be heading into Transformation hearings on May 31/2011 and settlement with BAC by the end of June 2011....

      WE will see if GMAC is smart enough to settle and not go through the items/tasks requested by Judge Fried....

      Will be interesting few weeks ahead.

      • are too funny. Let's look at your previous predictions from 2009:

        Here are my price suggestions for MBIA:

        1. Mid-2010 post Courts dismissing the Case against MBIA re-structuring: $22.50-25;

        2. Post Rating Upgrades and starting to write New Business Q1/2011: $45-50;

        Reinstating its dividend mid-2011: $75-90.

        People should bear in mind that MBIA is the largest Bond Insurer and its success was not the result of an accident, it was rather the result of a smart business model and second to none management despite being defrauded by the Banks on CDO/CDS products.
