More on "electoral realities"... for dunald_rumsfaild
47% of Americans do not pay federal income taxes. 49% of american households have at least one member that collects a government transfer-payment check. Obama focused his campaign on those people. In fact, he continues to "campaign" every day... all week this week, when he should have been in DC working on sequester alternatives.
The top 1% of of american earners constitute 1% of the electorate, yet they provided about 38% of all federal income tax revenues and estimates are that they will be providing close to 41% of them in the wake of Obama's $640 million tax increase in January.
Obama says that this was done to create "fairness" in the tax code.
Like we've seen over the years in Venezuela, Greece, Portugal, Cuba, Spain, etc... investment capital is stampeding out of the the U.S. It is symptomatic of economies that lurch "hard left" as America has under Obama's boot. Capital Spending hit a 50-year low in the U.S. in 2012. Unemployment remains at 8% and the "labor participation" rate remains near an all-time low.
I saw a survey of 20-somethings that voted for Obama last fall. A surprising cadre of them voted for them because they saw him on TV with hollywood personalities and thought he was "hip". Justin Bieber stood out as a particularly appealing Obama "chum" who generated a lot of the votes you're talking about.
That same survey showed that just over 1% of the respondants had an understanding of how the federal reserve conducts it's monetary policy via it's open market operations and continues to print massive amounts of money that go far, far beyond any similar monetization of federal debt that has ever occurred in American history......
..... THAT is what will destroy the future of all those 20-somethings who voted for Obama because they saw him on TV with Justin Bieber... and they have NO IDEA what is actually happening.
