They rejected Amgen because they probably have 3 other parties they are talking to. Gilead would be a very nice fit! Gilead has been buying up small oncology companies and ONXX will give them the marketing muscle they need for other products. Both are bay area companies. Amgen would just gut them and so would Novartis. Don't rule out Merck. They need a onc team to market their PDI!
Maybe Pfizer is worried about protecting its patent estate in its Onxx collaboration. It already hoodwinked for minimal royalties what will be the largest oncology product in history. No other reason for PFE to be bidding at these levels. If a concern 200 is possible. Moreover, Amgen has the best patent attorneys in all of biotech and pharma and who knows if Roche is lurking in the background with a head fake for public consumption. Much like A-Rod and MLB, just get it over with already. ..please.
they rejected Amgen after receiving their $120 offer. They were not talking to anyone else at the time they received the offer. Since they decided to put themselves up for sale they now have other interested parties. As has been mentioned, they signed a confidentiality agreement with 3 different companies.Wouldn't surprise me to see Amgen come away with it.
Sounds like a gossip agreement they signed. They are talking to anyone and everyone. Money talks. Who would want to be bought by Amgen? They cut and gut! Look for Gilead to make an offer! I say we might have an offer next week! 155 would be nice!
