There are some really nutty posts here.Watch how much the Bakers buy of this offering. In Sept they bought 2.5 M.They dont care what the SP is tomorrow, they care next year when buying this company for 5 dollars a share will look like last Dec when the Bakers bought a ton of another 5 dollar stock - ACAD.
A similar run with results will happen with XOMA.Last weeks scam was fully anticipated and was a chance to finish the job of collecting weak shares. I posted this 3 months ago - watch what happens next
(from Dec offering) .Watch how much the Bakers buy of this offering. In Sept they bought 2.5 M.They dont care what the SP is tomorrow, they care next year when buying this company for 5 dollars a share will look like last Dec when the Bakers bought a ton of another 5 dollar stock - ACAD
Clear answers for the nuts here.Yes XOMA has sufficient funds to cover all trials and operations for a couple of years so the black ops here cant understand WHY ARE THEY DILUTING AGAIN! ??
A- beause money is cheap and bios will not see interest rates this low for a long time and tapering is coming and ....and and...Duhhhhhh
Surely Felix and Julian are laughing
If there is such good news just around the corner, i.e., first quarter of 2014, then why not wait until the "good news" is released. The share price would jump and any public offering would generate even more money for future Phase III studies. The answer, I'm afraid, is that the results to be released in the first quarter will be equivocal at best and the share price will fall. In short, the management of XOMA wanted to lock in an offering close to today's pricing because it's the best deal they see for generating some revenue in the intermediate term. It also suggests there is no "buyout" of the company in the works. It also suggets that management feels there is a long road ahead and the price per share will not be heading up dramatically any time soon. I am very disappointed by the potential reasons XOMA management decided to return to the equity markets at this time.
As for the Baker Brothers...can't believe they would be happy with a dilution of their shares...no one ever is. I thinks there's some new data that has come in and things don't look so good. I suspect the next filing will show that the Baker Bros have reduced their holding in XOMA. Even the Baker Bros get it wrong once in a while. Hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
Exactly.....very nutty posts! By next week everyone will have settled down after they realize nothing has changed at Xoma. A solid pipeline with multiple Phase III trials all coming due next year.....no wonder why the BB are on board.
Wouldn't be the least bit surprise to see these funds used to launch an Acne Phase III.
