Shareholders meetings are dog and pony shows, no matter where they're held. When I was a young associate at K&E, I choreographed more than my share of annual meetings for our clients. Like many other attorneys, my Directorship election and Resolution passage rates were both 100%.
The dog and pony show aspect is especially true for the top company in any China stock corporate structure. The top company -- the one owned by the public -- is strictly for appearances. It has no assets and collects no revenues. It only exists in cyberspace, on a law firm's computers.
The big investors appear to be in China. When they want to start to pump the stock and have a little fun.... they will have the annual meeting in Hawaii. When they really want to pump the stock and get wild and crazy...they will have the annual meeting in Vegas.
