It's coming. NYC has already outlawed huge sugary drinks. Now that we have Obamacare it's only a matter of time before more finger pointing goings on and starts blaming red meat for America's obesity problem. It'll start small. No more 1/2lb hamburgers served in restaurants. Fatty cuts might be restricted... The government you love so much and trust indefinitely will eventually outlaw your cheeseburger in that paradise you call your mom's basement.
and the science is coming along. people who eat less red meat have lower cholesterol, better blood pressure, less cancer, less heart disease, less strokes, less body weight, and are generally healthier. Furthermore, I'm in above average health I guess. Why should I pay more for health insurance because of smokers and meat eaters? They should be outlawed!
Ahh but thankfully I believe in freedom. You should be able to kill yourself by smoking and eating a poor diet. But unfortunately... not everyone in government believes in freedom. Your hamburger is dead. It's just a matter of time.
I think the first victim should be HFCS though. That needs to die.
Yes and yes. Actually -- I haven't read up on this in a while -- but I believe the Prius is (or used to be) worse for the environment. If I remember correctly it was the batteries. See, they mine the nickel in Canada. Then it was shipped to Europe for refinement and to China / Japan (??) or both. All that traveling negated any CO2 benefit of the fuel efficient design. If I get bored next week I'll run the numbers...
