    OT: Excellence

A little slow today, so I thought I would mention the career of Bob Ladouceur, the head football coach of De La Salle High School in Concord, CA, about 40 miles from where I live. He is retiring as head coach this year leaving behind this record:

    - 34 years as head coach
    - 399 wins and 25 loses
    - 20 undefeated seasons
    - Consecutive undefeated seasons from 1992 to 2005
    - 17 CA state championships [50% of his years as coach] - open division [plays all comers]
    - 7 national championships
    - More than a few college and professional players are alumni

He is not leaving on a downturn; he just won his fourth CA championship in a row. And don't think he plays weak teams. De la Salle plays the best teams in NorCal and in SoCal every year. They even played teams from other states to help decide the national championship. In addition, his players won special recognition for academic excellence by a football team.

Anytime we get an ego for a few good trades, think of Bob, probably the most successful person I have ever heard of in his field.
