They found him in a cabin and placed seven incendiaries devices outside it and quickly turned the cabin into an inferno. Hah! I bet he had not anticipated that. I bet he thought he would have had a chance to surrender. Unfortunately Obama didn’t have a chance to shoot the cabin with a drone missile strike. I would have enjoyed that show much more. But this will do.
I can only imagine the terror that Dorner felt when he saw flames flash up around him from all sides and the intense heat they produced at which time he realized he was trapped with no way to get out alive. Oh well. I don't think anyone wanted him to live anyway. At least he wasn't tortured. We can be thankful for that. His last few minutes must have been extremely excruciating. It could have been worse though. At least he was never water boarded. How dreadful. We can all sleep better tonight knowing that.
I listened to the radio chatter and from what I could tell it was quite professionally executed. Dorner didn’t have a chance and no one outside the cabin was at risk. It was like burning ants with a magnifying glass. I'm sure that the cost of replacing the cabin is much less than the cost of a trial and the endless legal battles once on death row. And the end result would have been the same anyway, except for the pain of burning alive. I'm sure that someone will make money producing a training video of this so they can use it to train people on how to burn future suspects to a crisp.
There is only one minor problem however. There may not be any identifiable DNA left. It was probably him. Wasn't it? I mean it had to be him, right?
Ray, it does your credibility no good to just make stuff up as you post.
The cops did not set incendiary devices. There is nothing in any police protocol to allow them to do such a thing. From CBS:
"Late Tuesday, heavily armed officers finally cornered their suspect. They fired tear gas and deployed vehicles to rip down the house where he was holed up. Then, a single gunshot from inside. Smoke and flames soon poured from the cabin."
Dorner likely killed himself, and likely started the fire himself.
The real tragedy is that Obama didn’t get to snuff him with a drone missile. After all, they went through the trouble of classifying him as a domestic terrorist thus opening the door for a drone missile attack.
Ray, I'm going to partially apologize, because it appears that the word "incendiary" is being used for some of the tear-gas canisters they fired into the cabin (over at LA Times).
They did this only after the flameless (not "traditional," since the CS canisters they call "incendiary" here are actually the traditional tear-gas used by cops and armies for decades, while the flameless ones were invented to reduce the chance of starting a fire).
So you didn't just make up the incendiary part. But it's not true they did it intending to set a fire. They used the less-safe CS canisters because the safer ones weren't making the guy quit the structure, and the risk of fire was no longer a valid barrier to acceptability of the tactic.
