So, shorties, WHERE is the huge selloff?
With record volume, AGNC managed to go nowhere..
It didn't even hit the previous low after hours price of $30.25.
For every share sold (and there were millions of them) there was always an eager buyer, which is why despite the huge volume, the price didn't really budge.. so those hoping for AGNC to move significantly lower from here, they are DREAMING.
Guess you don't know how to read the volume trading numbers for the day which saw AGNC drop almost an incredible 7.5% goober.
Old guys need to have someone read things & explain for them.
Moron, the drop in price happened AFTER HOURS the day before, right after the Q2 report was published!!
The stock opened DOWN and it didn't really go anywhere the rest of the day.
Get a real broker and learn how to interpret after hours price charts, MORON
To all the idiots bashing this stock, do you even know HOW AGNC makes money and pays a huge dividend in a very low interest environment?
Do you even know WHY AGNC lost money last quarter?
Do you even know WHY the quarterly loss, means NOTHING for next quarter?
Q2's loss came from a bad derivative hedge bet on the Fed's interest rates, that is it.
AGNC bet wrong and had to sell some expiring agency paper at a loss.
It doesn't mean it is going to happen again, at least not next quarter, as i am sure management has learned from this mistake.
your comments arent entirely correct.
its not that they bet wrong?
they picked their asset class and it got market down
its recovering they mentioned and that directly lead to bounce and stabilitization for one day
however the TBA will act the same moving forward - so there is no lesson and they learned from it
they have tba and when prices go up they roll and when prices go down they roll
its the roll that requires booking losses or gains - and this will happen no matter what
its the introduction of the roll that has heigthened the variability now
overall it will add value with higher yields but that profit expectation comes at a cost - and that costs is up and down variability.
Excellent observation. Even Jack Welch and Warren Buffet made a wrong decision here and there. No one is omniscient. I have kept all my AGNC shares knowing that AGNC management is still considered the best in the REIT business. With 2.8 Billion in cash on hand, holders of AGNC Shares are going to prosper into the forseeable future. I will be holding onto my shares at least thru 2015.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Well, some "bashers" (guess those are the ones that understand financials) know what a LOSS is and along with about 28 million other traders knew what to do.
You on the other hand probably don't even have a position in this stock nor know how to trade it.
Yep, you are a member of the Old Fart depends crowd of know-not-too-much.
So keep on ranting the old fart rant about "bashers" bubba as we LOAO at you!
