Minnesotafarmcountry pointed out the buyout today. What was intriguing was the "pin-action"(Cramer) in ROSG Friday AH bringing the price to 4.12 from the HOD of 4.11 and from a close of 4.0396. This is a positive sign.
GNOM sparks the Bidding war by receiving the ILMN offer. GNOM says regulators would reject ILMN taking over. ILMN wants them "as is". If GNOM reconsiders the ILMN offer, then BGI-Shenzhen should raise their offer. ROSG should enjoy the Genomic attention.
The buyout of GNOM by the Chinese was announced over a month or so ago. We got the "pin action" then. Friday it was because the second bidder was identified as Illumina. 5% premium isn't much and there is speculation it would not pass muster due to ILMN cornering much of the market.
Your right minn. the BGI offer was a month ago. Now that ILMN is identified as the second bidder, the bidding war should intensify between BGI-Shenzhen & ILMN... and maybe others. But the attention to genomics is good for ROSG.
