IMO, TTN will open slightly to the upside Mon. Price should increase as the day progress, however TA does not allow me to estimate how the day will end - too many forces at play here. I will hold my positions as I suspect the volitility ahead will make it too difficult to do anything else.
Comments here about earnings: Multex 2/10 reports projected earnings for 2000 at .60 Other paid and free sources vary from .60 - .61 (up approx 24%) No change in 5 strong buys.
I think I've found what they're referring to. The Multex site is erroneously listing the 4th quarter earnings as .51 instead of .18, this increases the 99 earning to .81 annual. Since the 2000 earnings are being estimated at .62 they think the earnings estimates were reduced.
Earnings were NOT reduced for 2000. They were estimated at .60 to .62 and they are still there.
Here's a tested link (I hope it works for you) to the page showing the wrong info.
don't be too quick condemning multiinvestor.com on this one. technically, they are correct.
TTN's trying to have their cake & eat it too - on this one.
"pro forma" earnings are meant to provide comparative amounts which include continuing operations, excluding discontinued ops. & non-recurring gains & losses (extraordinary charges & credits). An extraordinary charge or credit is one which cannot REASONABLY be expected to reoccur.
TTN describes itself as being in the business of commercializing technologies & bringing them to market via joint ventures, spinoffs, carve outs, etc.
The IPivot gain falls precisely into this category.
You tell me. How can they claim that it's a non-recurring gain when such transactions are integral to their business plan? In fact, IPivot was the 5th such transaction in recent years for TTN.
According to GAAP, as I understand it, $0.81 is the number for 1999.
I haven't been around alot since the board went nuts the past few weeks. During that time, when I did check in, I noticed alot of crap from E-whoever that was creating alot of confusion on the board. I know it was a pain for you.
I guess what I'm trying to say is it sure is good to have the same old Eradicationman back. It wasn't the same without you. Stick around, we appreciate your input. The same for some of the other, faithful old timers.
