    ORCL not a factor?

The dump by Ellison is a great buying opportunity for anyone in the tech sector. No big secret that ORCL is losing traction while many other data platforms are taking their clients. Don't let these mutts bring you down. PKT and other content focused applications will not disappoint, unless the U.S. goes up in smoke because of the dollar crisis.

    • It’s no secret amongst who? I haven’t heard one analyst or read one article that expected ORCL earnings to be this poor, sounds like it was a secret to me ….are you saying that people in your profession or people you chat with sort of felt like this wasn’t a surprise?

      • While ORCL has been acquiring competition, they have been losing purchase on market share. The success of the Red Hat world has been eating away at enterprise revenue for a few years and now is at a serious level. As companies get more and more of the data in the cloud, or on other people's servers to manage, they don't need to spend the ridiculous prices ORCL has squeezed out of them for years. The advent of CRM and other crm and erp apps, especially the cheaper variety, has begun to finally take its toll. They have been losing government annuities for the same reason. It's tough to justify ORCL with its service contracts when you don't really need them. Once you have all your sales and fulfillment transactions in open source formats, you save big money. Companies want to be agile, not tied to million dollar service contracts. I have never been a fan of ORCL's or MSFT's enterprise offerings because they don't make clients happy.
