Hi all, Does Jones have exclusivity of this natural GABA to be sold in drinks in the USA?Or is it non-exclusive?And if exclusive, how long do those rights last? Finally, are their any reviews of how this product tastes? Thanks
Read the financial reports (10 k) it enumerates the deal with Mitubishi, the patent holder on GABA.
Not big on doing your own research, eh? Well, the folks driving the price upwards have, 'nuff said ;-)You can read the original press release about GABA Pharma rights deal --> http://www.jonessoda.com/invest/pdf_documents/2007/Jones-Pharma-Gaba.pdfOf course, if I was Coke wanting to get in, I'd set up my own production facility for gamma-aminobutyric acid and not rely on Japan, but any way you slice it, Jones has the head start. As for taste, go out and spend two bucks and try the product. Or trust my opinion here --> http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Stocks_%28A_to_Z%29/Stocks_J/threadview?m=tm&bn=26938&tid=201710&mid=201710&tof=53&frt=2
I have done DD to a point. I knew JSDA HAD an exclusive deal but that PR was mid 2007 and as you might notice, there is was no GABA drink at the end of 2007 as the PR stated. Usually you get exclusivity if you put out the product out at a certain timeline. Otherwise you lose it and give it to someone else or several others who CAN sell it. So maybe I didn't ask my question correctly. Does JSDA STILL have exclusivity from this deal for the USA market in drinks? And if so, how long does that last? And thank you for your taste test comparison. I live on the east side of the mtns in WA state. Where do I find this GABA stuff for $2?I thought the price was $2.99BTW, I'd much rather see a teaser price of $1.99 at the launch. This GABA better be able to produce miracles for $2.99 a pop...lol
None of this matters because GABA doesn't do sh*t!It's just a worthless FAD.Next year Nobody will talk about GABA and Jones will be but a memory.
Anyone can sell this GABA crap.Problem is ... nobody wants to!Except the chimps at jones.
