6 of the top 7 earning mobile games are produced by just two companies
Those two companies are King and Supercell. The best hope for GLUU is industry consolidation. With thousands of players in this space, there's too much diversity of intellectual capital. GLUU is like a rogue planet without a sun. It will just keep floating in space until acted upon by an external force.
Peter based on what you post about stocks on MBs, you should really not being investing in stuff like this. You seem to be risk averse and looking for a solid set of evidence for past and current earnings and numbers.
Speculative investing is exactly that - investing based on what you THINK might happen, based on the evidence at hand.
GLU has a solid business model now, a strong position in a certain genre of games (FPS for mobile - their apps are the most popular in the young male group), and a worldwide presence and collaborations with many game companies worldwide, including Colopl, which is a HUGE Japanese gaming company.
They are hardly a fly by night with one minor hit and nothing on the table. Deer Hunter is in the top 100 grossing in 63 countries, FL2 is top 100 in 29, and they have a bunch of other titles out (EW3 is top 100 in 15, including China) or in the pipeline. They are well diversified, have a solid business plan, and are valued at a fraction of some other mobile gaming companies. This is not guaranteed, of course, but they are in a solid position, have TONS of room to grow, and are one megahit away from being a 5-10 bagger. But even without that megahit, I anticipate solid growth in 2014 and 2015. But that's just me....
Hi Drmoose, you read me correct. Frankly, I wouldn't have bought into this stock were it not for Gomes' backing. In fact, I wouldn't have touched it with a ten foot pole, but obviously he sees something I don't. And his core picks are worth some serious respect. Still, i don't like how GLUU's new releases have performed. I thought at least one of them would have had some staying power. FC2 was a total bomb relative to the pre-release hype that was generated. Even Gomes thought FC2 would give DH14 a run for the top game title. Man, what a disappointment. What's left in their arsenal? James Bond? Omg. please.
