Do you really expect a stock under $10 to perform with predictability and regularity? You have to wait for your reward with a bit of patience. When the HIMX does get noticed you will be rewared beyond what google, apple, or some other well known "growth stock" can offer. If you enjoy buying high p/e stocks at the top of their valuations then go right ahead and be my guest. History as shown that those stocks will kill you in the long run. I buy CHEAP growth stocks, not EXPENSIVE ones.
Just curious...was GOOG at the top of its valuation at 350 per share? I think my point is I much more enjoy stocks that grow. You're sit and wait strategy, especially if you bought this near $6, is a long painful way to have your money work against you.
I will agree one thing. Volatality is greater in these stocks.
The problem with buying GOOG now is that it has gone PARABOLIC and stocks that move that much in a short time tend to sell off. I can almost assure you that you will not triple your money in the next year or even 2 years for that matter with google, apple,T or any other big name.
I bought HOKU in late Dec.06 at $2.83 and sold on July 6,07 for 11.38 for a 302% gain. Not bad for about 6 months. The chart was not a pretty picture previous to Dec.28,06 when I bought. It was irrationally sold off.
