I have always said IBM is the best fit. They are the only potential buyer who could fit every aspect of Nuance into their business plan seamlessly, sell off some parts (transcription) here and there, and still sell to everyone else (Apple, MSFT, GOOG, Auto Companies, etc) without conflict. Apple isn't going to buy NUAN and sell to Samsung, MSFT, or GOOG, so they value of their purchase will plummet. Plus, does Apple want to deal with imaging, medical, transcription,,? Maybe, but I see them selling off parts quickly if they pay 10 billion for Nuance patents and technology.
