They say they will respond soon. Below is the text of my email
As a holder of 9000 Avon shares, I wish the Board of Directors to know that I am appalled by their decision to keep Andrea Jung as a member of the Board of Directors. This woman has presided over the destruction of Avon's reputation and value, and I see no reason to have her with the company in any role. The conduct and judgement of the Board of Directors has been absolutely deplorable, as they have stoically overseen the downfall of this once thriving company.
I hold about the same number of shares and have owned them longer than any of the current Board members have been with Avon. I was a silent shareholder until three years ago when I began sending occasional emails and letters. One email directed to Ms. Kim Rucker resulted in a telephone response from her and a call from Ms. Jung. My 30 minute conversation with Ms. Jung was the same old BS that she has been using for years. I believe I heard the term "challenging quarter" about five times in our conversation. Unfortunately for the shareholders, Jung continues to own the Board. The Avon Board needs to put aside it's ego, face the fact that they have mismanaged the company, and rid themselves of Ms. Jung.
Funny how people on this board can waste time posting but they don't have a few minutes to send an email to the Board. This is the response so far, we shall see what happens but I think owners need to heap as much of this as they can on the BOD. I believe they are feeling the heat.
We wanted to acknowledge receipt of, and thank you for, your email. We will relay your message to the appropriate parties.
