Atlanta and/or Pasadena or both will be closed. There is simply no other option. Neither are actually needed for the current order capacity and both only serve to provide a day or two of delivery time advantage due to geography. The sheer capacity comparison between Zansesville operating at 40% utilization shows those other DCs are no longer justified. And, selling model changes associated with SMT will negate those small geography differences. Of course Avon will not announce this until after ther end of the crucial fourth quarter and into Q1 2013 so as to get as much out of those associates as possible before terminating them with lower severances than in prior shutdowns. Supply Chain leadership has been extremely slow to react and poorly executed at best. Yet they are all still here acting like they actually know what they are doing while Rome burns around them.
