They are exceeding sales goals and pushing merchandise out. They ordered less than last year but it is all selling. Crowds equal to last year, saturday busier than black friday. Lots of men roaming the store buying.
Do you buy anything from Kohls? I bought plenty of clothing from them these two years. NOT even ONE piece is made in China!!!
You are looking at the a wrong place to bash China.
Yes, I am bearish on Kohls stock, but that has NOTHING TO do with China!
"Maybe. If they are able to make a profit in this environment good for them. The question is the amount of profit verses the expected profit. Lets not forget forward guidance."
I am not sure of there guidance forecasts but I do know that clothing makers are asking department stores to "eat more of there markdowns". I found this out in a kc star article but it is not online as far as i can tell. In the article Kohl's and JC Penney may have to agree to 30% profit margins instead of the usual 35% margins. Other stores named in the article were Macy's, Dillards, Nordstrom. Those three would go from 40 to 35 percent margins. The reason the stores would do this is to help keep the vendors solvent. Just another thing to think about.
that's great...I am short this pos at an average price in the high 40's, and I will short more and more of it because I think it's going below 27. Good luck in the next two quarters let alone this quarter. and by the way, why don't you idiots look back and see what I said about this stock months ago and see how right I was. Everytime that idiot big buyer in the 40's bid it up, I shorted the sh&^t out of it. You can have the retail stocks. I'm also shorting the shopping center stocks..One in particular. yeah a big one that will fall big. Just like I shorted LVS and LEH and MER....yeah it's true. every word of it. You bulls are a bunch of losers. Look at what I said about FSLR when I was short in the hi 200's and ENER in the 60's. It's all there...See you at dow 7000...you all stay as bullish as you want. good luck...you'll need it...
I shopped at Kohr for the first time on saturday. The store was so crowed and the waiting lines at the registers were very long.
I bought a number of things there. My complaint is they did not have enough shopping carts. My location is irvine, CA.
I work at a Kohl's in NJ and have been there for almost five years. I definitely agree that there aren't enough shopping carts. I went shopping there on Black Friday and instead of using a shopping cart, I ended up using two of their black bags.
