There will be a split in the not too distant future. That's the info. I can not tell you "why I say it". It wouldn't really make a difference if I did tell you... you'd still be stuck trying to determine whether you should believe me or not, right? If you own the stock or, you are buying it waiting for a buyout... expect to wait up to a couple of years. Sorry I can't be more clear.
I like what you're saying but what makes you say that? I keep waiting for WestAmerica to be purchased by someone since that's the only thing I can think of that would be causing the stock to keep going up and up.
I am anticipating a 2, or perhaps 3 for 1 split in the near term. Anytime within the next three years, a buy-out is possible. Management is friendly to the idea. How high will it go? Historically the bank has done very well... above are two reasons it should trend higher... the third reason is that the Fed may lower rates next year... this will create an economy still more favourable to WABC... I'd keep it for a couple of more years.
Don't look for Mr. Payne to sell the bank any time soon. The top man has a great deal of sentimental attachment to WAB. I think the stock will continue to trend up; 110 by end of year, and as a shareholder who bought at $19, I am holding on to what is going to be a fast ride up! WAB IS the market share leader in 2 of California's wealthiest counties; Marin and Napa. My advice: Buy more quickly!!!
